Assignment 2
My web comic is based on aliens as to their existence. We often think weather it’s a myth that aliens exist or not. I created a comic showing how we think at times about aliens and if there are creations better than us. So I decided to create such a comic which will make people ponder about on such an issue. I used a background which would reflect space and the outer world so that people can imagine the scenario and reflect while reading the comic as well. I just used three frames for my comic as by main goal was to keep it short and precise in its message where the viewer can ponder about it in deep thoughts. I wanted to create such a comic where people can have their views about it and their opinions.

I would like to emphasize on McCloud concept of hot and cold story telling where the reader requires effort for getting the meaning of the comic. In such a format you expect significant amount of material to make it clear for the viewer. In my comic I have kept this in my frame 2. Making it clear and precise where the reader tends to understand what I am trying to portray. On the other hand in frame 3 I made it concise so that the reader would not lose out on the comic. If not followed by the concept than the whole purpose of a comic would die out.

I created a chair where the character is reclining on it and thinking deeply in the thoughts so I decided to keep it in its simplistic form how McCloud explained as well. It is said that the audience is to create closure to the faces and put in their simplest form ( McCloud ). I wanted to keep the comic simple where it is easy to visualize so the reader gets the depth ness of the words. I kept the character consistent with the background and focus on text so the reader can look into it. Frame 2 and 3 where I zoomed in more to show the thought of the comic and when its coming to its conclusion.
